Online Registration for 2026-2027 Opens Feb 3
Empower your child’s future with confidence, explore the limitless educational options with Medicine Hat Public School Division. We are pleased to open our online registration system for new and current students beginning at 7 a.m. on Feb 3, 2026.
To prepare for online registration all current families will need to have access to their PowerSchool Parent Portal account*. Take a moment to follow the link and login today. You may have forgotten your ID or password, but we are always happy to help. Give your child’s school a call and someone will be able to help you get logged in. (Please note that our online registration system works best from a laptop or desktop computer using a chrome web browser.) You may receive a link to access your registration form(s) via email, however our system for accepting registration will not be accessible until Feb 3 at 7 a.m.

Education is not a one size fits all solution which is why we offer a variety of programs and opportunities to allow students to learn, grow and ultimately build a better world. Registration for currently registered students
The online system will automatically send parents an invitation via email over the next few days, with all the appropriate links to register for the 2026-2027 school year. Families can start to complete the forms when online registration opens on Feb 3 at 7am. If you have not received the email by Feb 3, follow the steps below:
- Login to your Power School Parent Portal Account
- Click on the SchoolEngage icon on the left-hand menu
- Choose the registration forms assigned to you for the 2026-2027 school year.
Adding a New Child: If you have a child that will be new to our system for 2026-2027 you can follow steps 1 & 2 above to access SchoolEngage, then navigate to the main menu and click on + Add Student and follow the prompts. Once you have added the new student you will see new forms posted, please read carefully and only complete ONE form.
Don't have a PowerSchool Parent Portal account? Need help logging in to PowerSchool Parent Portal? Please contact the school and we will help you get started. Please note that we will be experiencing a high call volume and if you do not reach us, we will return your call within 24 hours. If you are not sure of your username or password for PowerSchool Parent Portal please click "forgot username or password" and follow the step by step process.
New Families - Online Registration for 2026-2027
New families are defined as those who DO NOT have ANY children registered in MHPSD schools. Use the link below to create a School Engage account.
Once you have activated your school engage account, navigate to main menu, and click on + Add Student and follow the prompts. After adding the new student you will see new forms in the forms box, please read carefully and complete ONE of the following forms:
- 1. 2025-2026 or 2026-2027 New Student Registration (for new students Kindergarten, Play & Learn and grades 1-12)
- 2025-2026 or 2026-2027 Early Learning Application
- 2025-2026 or 2026-2027 Hub Virtual School New Student Registration (for new students who will attend the Hub Virtual School)
- Summer School 2026 (registration open in May)
Online applications for new students to attend ELP, Kindergarten, Play & Learn and grades 1-12 in 2025-2026 will be accepted year round.

School Bus Registration | Register to Ride
Beginning in May, families that qualify will be able to register for school bus transportation for the 2026-2027 school year. For more information about school bus registration please visit our transportation page or click on the small bus icon in the top right hand corner of this webpage. Bus route maps will be updated and shared with registered riders near the end of the summer break, prior to the first day of school.
